Open Skyhunch

Skyhunch works from an area, not from your position.

Skyhunch has no accounts, no advertising and no analytics in the app. This page covers the Skyhunch app, on Android and on the web, and this website.

Last updated 17 October 2026.

Your location

The app asks for your location only while it is open. Your device turns your position into an area of about 2 square miles and discards the position. That area is the only location Skyhunch receives or stores. You can leave location off and search for a place instead.

What Skyhunch receives

The area you ask about and, as with any request on the internet, your IP address. Neither is tied to a name, an account or an advertising ID. We keep no profile of you, we do not sell data, and we show no ads.

Other services your device contacts

On your device

The places you save, your plans, your last area, your settings and recent forecasts are stored on your device only. Clearing the app's data or uninstalling it removes them.

Notifications

The daily brief and the temperature in the status bar are off until you turn them on. They are made on your device: while one is on, the app checks the forecast now and then in the background, for the area it last used, or a place you saved, in the same way as when it is open. No location is taken in the background, and no notification token, setting or message is sent to Skyhunch or to anyone else.

This website

The pages of skyhunch.com, but not the app, count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies.

Skyhunch is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
